FAQ
What is the goal of our platform?
Arum exists to open new rooms for art (physically and culturally). Our mission is to: - Help emerging artists gain real-world visibility. - Enable spaces to create meaningful atmospheres. - Allow people to encounter art organically in their daily lives. - Connect artists, London venues, and creative audiences into one ecosystem. We curate exhibitions in everyday spaces and match artists with venues whose identities align with their work.
Why is a platform like arum needed today?
Because three groups share the same frustration: - Artists are talented but often invisible, with limited networks and little access to galleries. - Spaces want culture, identity, and storytelling, but they don’t know where to find artists or how to manage exhibitions. - Audiences love art, but galleries can feel too serious or intimidating. All three want art. All three need each other. But they currently have nowhere to meet. That’s the gap arum fills.
What type of artists can join arum?
We focus on: - Emerging and early-career artists. - Preferably London-based. - Recent fine art or visual arts graduates. - Working in painting, drawing, photography, graphic art, printmaking, or digital art. You do not need prior gallery experience, just strong work and the desire to exhibit it.
Why should a venue host artworks?
Because art transforms spaces into cultural experiences. Venues benefit through: - Building a stronger brand identity through their space. - Opening-night events that attract new audiences. - Becoming part of London’s cultural landscape. Art isn't decoration, it’s storytelling and differentiation.
Why should an artist collaborate with arum?
Arum gives artists: - Access to a curated network of venues eager to host exhibitions. - Real-world visibility outside the limits of gallery systems. - A chance to reach new audiences organically. - Curatorial and logistical support throughout the entire process. Selling matters but so do exposure, connection, and cultural dialogue.
Who manages the installation and exhibition process?
Arum handles: contacting artists / measuring available wall space / curating the exhibition / installing artworks / organising opening events (when relevant). Venues don’t need artistic knowledge, arum makes the entire process effortless.
How long does an exhibition last?
Exhibitions typically run 2 to 6 months, depending on: the artist’s preference / the venue’s needs / the nature of the collaboration.
Can artists choose which venues to exhibit in?
Yes. Artists can browse available venues and choose the ones that best match their style, identity, and desired audience.
What is arum’s long-term vision?
Art shouldn’t wait in a gallery, it should meet people where life happens. We’re here to keep opening new rooms for art.
